Check out the newly completed change rooms at the Bridgenorth Football Club, designed to foster positive sports and active recreation experiences for women and girls.
Overcrowded changerooms, outdated facilities and no separate areas for women and girls from boys and men - were a few of the issues that the Bridgenorth Football Club were having before choosing Tasbuilt Commercial as their builder of choice for a new, high-end change room facility.
Tasbuilt Commercial specialises in prebuilt, modular buildings for many industries in Tasmania. These include modular classrooms, modular offices and admin buildings, accommodation and cabin parks, ablution and amenity blocks, and of course, sporting facilities and change rooms.
The Bridgenorth Football Club (also known as the Bridgenorth Parrots) and West Tamar Council recognised the need for new and improved facilities at the football club and reached out to Tasbuilt Commercial to provide them with the ultimate solution.
The Bridgenorth Parrots made their start in 1923, and now boast senior, reserve, under 18, and under 12 grades at the Club, and have won multiple premierships. Their home ground is the Bridgenorth Football Oval, located in the small and scenic Bridgenorth area, which is just a few kilometers away from Legana, a suburb in the outskirts of Launceston.
The key problem that the club faced was that their facilities didn’t suitably cater for both males and females. Poor facilities were negatively impacting preparation, training and recovery for the teams. To allow everyone to have the ultimate experience at the Club and play to the best of their ability, old and outdated facilities needed an upgrade without disrupting the players and their football schedule.
Bridgenorth Football Club identified Tasbuilt Commercial as a potential problem-solver, and Tasbuilt Commercial were more than happy to work with the Club to design a solution. The optimal agreed solution was to provide an entirely new change room facility for the females. This would provide the females with exceptional change rooms and amenities, and give the males and umpires more room in the existing facilities. By choosing Tasbuilt Commercial, the construction was 80% completed before it reached the site, significantly reducing the disruption to the football club.
Tasbuilt worked with the Club to design a space-efficient change room and amenities that included everything that would be needed. This included two sets of amenities, bench seating, shelving, whiteboards, and an operable wall. The operable wall enables the change room to be used as one large room for a single team or split into two rooms for opposing teams to use.
West Tamar Council recently engaged Tasbuilt Commercial to construct new change rooms to cater for Women’s AFL Football at the Bridgenorth Football Ground. It was great to be able to work with a local manufacturer who are passionate about what they do and put the needs of the client first. The whole process was made as easy as it could be from planning right through to the end of the build. The ability to build offsite meant minimal disruption time at the venue. Any changes which needed to be made during the project were clearly defined and discussed with us. We found any additions to the contract were fairly priced and in some cases reductions were made for variations resulting in a cost benefit. The project was also completed within the given time frame and we were impressed by the sturdiness and quality of the finished product. Tasbuilt and all their employees operated with the utmost respect, fairness and integrity at all times. I have overseen many contracts in my role and have not seen a better or more professional supplier. I would highly recommend them to any potential client.

These facilities are a game-changer for the club, and we hope they enjoy the facilities for many years to come.
