To learn more about one of the fantastic, well-travelled team members here at Tasbuilt, we took 5 with Rob.
Tasmania is a great place, and you travel all over Tasmania for Tasbuilt, so tell us a bit about your two favourite locations.
My two favorite places are Burnie and Sisters Beach, both coastal locations. They both have nice beaches that are not very crowded. I also really like Stowport, a scenic suburb just off Burnie.
Where do you see Tasbuilt in 5 years?
I see a lot of potential at Tasbuilt over the next 5 years. A lot of people around Tasmania want new homes in isolated locations, and Tasbuilt can meet this need, so I believe it will grow massively.
Out of all the jobs there are to choose from, why did you choose to become a painter? And what is your dream job?
Honestly, I didn’t have a choice. At the time when I was looking for a job, there weren’t any other opportunities, so I became a painter. But now, painting is my dream job, although, I would love to eventually have my own painting business, so I’d become a sub-contractor for Tasbuilt, and have my own painting crew.
Tell us about one of your most enjoyable moments at Tasbuilt?
One of my most enjoyable moments is when I see a happy, satisfied customer.
I was told by a customer once who needed painting work done, that they were happy to wait as long as needed, just if it was me who did the painting. She was so happy that she even baked me a cake!
Another enjoyable moment is when we have the end-of-year gatherings when the entire Tasbuilt team gets together to celebrate another fantastic year of work done.
Just for fun, what would you bring if you were on an island and could only bring three things?
That’s a hard one, but I would bring a knife, something to make a fire, like kindling and matches, and some food.
