Derby Throwback: Revisiting Two Iconic Builds
Two modular builds that helped put Derby accommodation on the map

Double-Story Architectural Accommodation
Nestled above a stone retaining wall and gazing out over the nearby river and township, these three identical double-storey, timber-clad units were designed to blend comfort, style and natural charm.
Inside, you’ll find roomy living areas, generous windows that invite the outdoors in, and well-appointed kitchens and bathrooms — everything needed to ensure a stay that feels more like a getaway than simply a stop-over.
Externally, the design — warm timber cladding paired with dark vertical cladding, gives the accommodation a rustic yet refined aesthetic, perfectly suited to Derby’s surroundings. The elevated location doesn’t just deliver privacy, it brings sweeping views that turn a simple stay into an experience.
For guests looking to recharge after a long day on the trails, or for families seeking a comfortable base while they explore, this project delivers the kind of stay that keeps people coming back.
Modular Cabins + Bike Store
On a neighbouring hillside, we also delivered a different kind of solution: a modified “Blackman Duplex”, two double-bedroom cabins and a custom-built bike store, all carefully positioned on a challenging, sloping site.
This build highlights one of the key advantages of modular construction — our ability to deliver a complete, tailored package even when terrain seems to make the job difficult. From design through to completion, Tasbuilt handled every step.
