Modular Classrooms Project Throwback

A throwback to a pivotal school expansion that Tasbuilt Commercial was proud to be apart of

Schools are a vital part of any community or ecosystem, and they’re constantly growing and expanding. As any school would know, it’s crucial to ensure that there are enough learning spaces and rooms to cater for the number of students. If there too many students for the amount of space or number of classrooms available, it can have substantial impacts. Such impacts can include not enough teachers, insufficient learning resources, and individual student needs being overlooked.

When the need comes for increasing classroom spaces there’s a lot of important factors to consider like where you’re going to expand to, how many spaces you’re going to add, and how you’re going to work around the tight and full school year.

All these needs and factors were addressed smoothly when Tasbuilt Commercial were chosen by the St Patrick's College, to design, build and complete the 4-classroom extension to their growing school in Prospect. St Patrick's College decided that to keep up with the growth and demand of their school, they’d add four classrooms, all complete with a shared deck along the front of the buildings.

St Patrick's identified that they didn’t have any opportunities to add onto an existing building, so they chose a new space, which was overlooking the school's sports oval. To work in seamlessly with the school action, the Tasbuilt team worked quickly and efficiently around the school’s learning times throughout the year. The major benefit for St Patrick's College in choosing modular and Tasbuilt Commercial was that at least 80% of the project was completed offsite, in our factory, with the final stage being completed on site. This significantly reduced the impact to the school’s operations, that would’ve otherwise being highly disruptive if it was a traditional onsite build.

With the Christmas and Easter breaks quickly approaching, we strongly encourage you to review your school’s capacity and possibility of upcoming growth. If you identify the potential need for additional spaces and classrooms, Tasbuilt Commercial is ready to be your trusted partner in seamlessly catering for your schools expansion.
